It’s easy to get under the stress that life sometimes throws at us. It doesn’t take a lot to become confronted with all the things missing from our lives, in our bid to become successful.
From a failing grade to an employment gap on your resume, to the lack of X number of years of experience, to the wrinkle on your professional brand.
The feeling can be experienced in the same manner. It can be overwhelming, depressing, discomfiting and even confusing.
I feel your pain because I have walked in those exact same shoes before. And it is not a very exciting spot to be.
It is very difficult to keep pressing on when faced with a whole amount of discouraging scenarios. And it becomes worse when the people you look up to, to help you out, become the ones to point out all your faults and weaknesses.
I wouldn’t try to make this all flowery and pretend as though it was not a big deal. Because it is.
It is a big deal when you find that you have to keep knocking on several doors until you find the one that opens up for you.
It is a big deal when you have to spend several nights awake on your bed, wondering what would become of you or that thing that is stealing your precious sleep.
It is a big deal when you finally realize that indeed according to Mark Twain, “the world truly owes you nothing” and you have to figure out how that stuff is going to work out.
It also becomes a big deal, when you come to terms with the words of Bill Gates that, “life is not fair, get used to it!”
But, here is the good news,
Because, according to Napoleon Hill, “whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
So, irrespective of the challenges, disappointments, shortcomings, perceived failures, and disadvantages, your success is indeed guaranteed, as long as you do not allow any of these things deter you.
And like Theodore Roosevelt rightly put it, “Believe you can, and you are halfway there.”
And here’s one more thing, “when everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford
Anything is indeed possible, including YOU!
To your continued success. Cheers!!!
